About The Stream
The Learning and Development Stream will be progressively built out from 2027, with training events, downloadable resources, and video content added on an ongoing basis throughout the life of the program. It is designed to be accessible to organisations wherever they are located and whatever stage of growth they are at.
Once live, the stream will offer three core components:
- Training and events: practical, sector-focused workshops, webinars, and training sessions covering governance, finance, business planning, asset management, risk management, and more; designed for board members, executives, and operational staff.
- Video resources: an on-demand library of video content, sector insights, and training recordings hosted on the Shelter WA YouTube channel.
- Guides and resources: a downloadable library of practical guides, templates, fact sheets, and toolkits to support day-to-day capability building.
What Is The Stream For
The Learning and Development Stream is intended to complement the Growth Readiness Assessment and Business Advisory streams by providing accessible, ongoing learning opportunities for the broader community housing sector, not just organisations actively engaged in the other two streams. Further detail on focus topics, training formats, and delivery partners will be confirmed ahead of the 2027 launch.
Eligibility
The Learning and Development Stream is open to all community housing organisations and professionals operating in Western Australia, including:
- Registered and unregistered CHOs (all tiers).
- Aboriginal Community Housing Organisations (ACHOs) and ACCOs.
- Aspiring and emerging community housing organisations.
- Board members, executives, and staff working in the community housing sector.
There is no requirement to have completed a Growth Readiness Assessment to access the Training, Education and Tools Stream.
